Brass Gemstone Matchbox

Designed exclusively for Bloomingdale’s by Colby Byrd of Shelton Metal, the Brass Gemstone Matchbox is part of our Heirloom Gemstone Collection, bringing the artistry of jewelry to the home.

The original form is hand carved with an organic, seaworn texture before being cast and hand finished in solid brass. An enamel-painted handle inspired by an emerald gemstone adds a rich touch of color and a hint of whimsy. Subtle variations in texture and finish reflect the handmade nature of each piece, giving every box its own character.

Designed to hold matches, jewelry, or other tiny treasures, this versatile trinket box brings sculptural beauty to a dining table, mantel, bar, vanity, or bedside table. Details: One solid brass trinket box with an enamel-painted emerald gemstone-inspired handle. Approximately 2.75" L × 1.5" W × 0.75" H. Handmade texture and finish will vary.

Care: Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. Do not soak or clean with abrasive products. The unlacquered brass will naturally develop a rich patina over time. To restore its original luster, apply a small amount of lemon juice and baking soda paste to the brass only, gently polish with a soft cloth, rinse carefully, and dry immediately. Avoid applying the mixture to the enamel detail or allowing moisture to enter the box.
